I slip below canopies,
Clean and green,
Where the suns unseen.
I flow steady throughout all my daze,
Fumbling through the mountain maze,
To the sea.
Her eyes get low,
And swell into thee.
Echos rise and flutter,
Melting the sun like butter.
But the moon comes soon,
with no surprise,
A new tune plays
And stirs her tides.
I, a river.
She, the sea.
Together we might make
A little Estuary.
She's the tide and ocean deep,
Blind to weep,
A good harvest she'll reap.
The crash she makes on sand bar shores,
Are for finding places never seen before this day,
If I get lucky,
She'll come back this way.
Salty and blue strong and true
Tainted with a greenish hue,
She's never known.
Into the cove we'll go for shade,
From that sun that's
So overplayed
I, a river.
She, the sea.
Together we could make
A little Estuary.
It's the salt in the sea,
That always reminds me,
Of where I'll one day be.
